About Me - Yaryna Chornohuz
Hello, I'm Yaryna Chornohuz, a Ukrainian writer, poet, and active duty servicewoman. Since 2020, I've been serving as a Marine, combat medic, and drone operator in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I joined after the loss of my boyfriend in the war, and my experiences on the front lines have shaped my writing and my resolve to protect my homeland. I have a daughter who motivates me every day to keep fighting for a better future.

While deployed, we often face shortages of essential supplies, food, and equipment. Gear gets destroyed in combat and needs constant fixing or replacement, from medical kits to communication tools and even basic provisions.
